The Silverline

In the festive period, we’re celebrating a special charity called The Silverline which provides help specifically for older people. No one should feel lonely or isolated at Christmas, so The Silverline’s free 24/7 phone service is always open to provide help, support and friendship for those who need it. Read on for more information about this fantastic charity and what they do to help.

Open every day of the year, including Christmas and Bank Holidays, The Silverline’s phone line is entirely free for you to call at any time of the day. Loneliness can be a cause of sleep loss, so having a helpful volunteer to chat to at night if you’re struggling to sleep is a great way to ease any anxiety or worry. You can call them at 0800 4 70 80 90 for any advice or just a simple conversation.

If you want to help the charity out, you can donate online at The Silverline’s website or by texting 70660. Just £5 can help The Silverline to answer more calls from people who need the comfort and support of The Silverline’s excellent volunteers, to ensure that no-one is lonely at Christmas. On their website, The Silverline also has a feature which enables you to donate a minimum of £5 as a gift card for an older person to call the phone line and receive support and comfort.
