Advice and Guidance – Ask Kate!
Posted by Jamie McKay on May 11, 2021
The world of mobility aids can be rather overwhelming at first. There’s such an array of daily living aids, where do you start?
So, we, at Ability Superstore thought that we could help you navigate through every step, from walking sticks to bathing aids to dining aids and everything in between.
The ideal person to help is our resident Occupational Therapist (OT), Kate Makin. Kate has written a new feature which we’ve called, 'Ask Kate!'.
We hope that you will find this new column useful and, if you’ve got any questions you would like answered, then please send them across to email@example.com
Firstly, Who Is Kate?
In case you didn’t already know, Kate Makin is Ability Superstore's Occupational Therapist. As she mentioned in her introductory article last year;
“As a registered and qualified OT, I have wide-ranging experience dealing with and recommending all forms of daily living assistive aids; from bathing aids and equipment for the bathroom, such as bath lifts and toileting aids to products for the kitchen, such as gripping aids, drinking cups and adaptive cutlery to general mobility aids designed to make everyday life that little bit easier.”
How Will 'Ask Kate!' Work?
That’s a great question! ‘Ask Kate!’ is our version of the agony aunt columns that you read in newspapers; they are usually after the TV guide but before the sport pages!
Being British, we quite often don’t like to ask questions, and will bumble along hoping that everything will sort itself out without having to bother anyone.
Well, Ability Superstore want to be bothered! We want to help you with all your queries and questions you may have about mobility products and disability aids.
Initially, we will launch our ‘Ask Kate’ column with answers to questions that our in-house, friendly customer service team are regularly asked. This way you can look on our website and find a solution to a query without having to pick up the phone or Google for the answer.
We Also Need Your Help
For ‘Ask Kate’ to be a really useful mobility aids feature, we would like your help, please.
Our customers know better than anyone else the kind of questions that don’t get answered by some mobility aid suppliers, or big online stores like Amazon.
Here at Ability Superstore, we pride ourselves on our customer service, providing good accurate advice and regular updates on the status of your order, unlike many of our competitors or online marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay.
Whether it is a bathroom grab rail or an outdoor step, you know that you can call or email us and chat to the same people in our customer service team.
Unlike larger online presences, our customer service team are entirely human and based here in the UK, in the same building as our warehouse.
So, not only can you be sure that you won’t have to ‘talk’ to any robots, but if you have a question about a product, our team can get it from the warehouse, take it out of the box and talk you through the answer while you are on the phone, without having to be placed in a queue for half an hour, or be put through to four different departments!
Send Us Your Questions
It is as simple as that! Any questions you would like answering, please let us know. The 'Ask Kate' column will appear regularly and, in time, anyone looking at our website will be able to browse this knowledge base.
Please don’t think your question is too trivial for us, whatever our customers want to know is incredibly important to us. If we can help to make your life a little bit better and a little bit easier, helping you or a loved one live independently, then we can go home at night with a smile on our faces.
You may want to know whether to get a bath seat or a bath board? Or what type of grab rail to choose?
It could be a question about how to set up a walking aid, or how an outdoor step works. Whatever it is, we will do our best to answer it for you!
How Do We Contact Kate?
As Kate is quite often out and about (or on Zoom) with customer appointments during the day, you can send your questions to us here at Ability Superstore.
