Jamar Discriminator
Product Code: 35123
Description
- Test static and moving one and two-point discrimination
- Set includes two disks
- The prongs are 1 cm (0.75 inch) long
The Jamar Discriminator is the perfect tool for testing both static and moving one- and two-point discrimination.
It includes two disks that quantify innervation density from 0- 2.5 cm (0-1 inch), making this an excellent choice if you're looking to test nerve fibres function in your client’s body.
In neurological terms, one-point discrimination is the ability to locate specifically a point of pressure on your skin. The Jamar Discriminator can test two-point discriminations of two nearby objects (two separate distinct points) touching the skin.
Static two-point discrimination tests will measure the responsiveness of nerve endings in the area tested, whereas moving two point discrimination tests measure the ability to discriminate between different areas of the body.
