Our Charities

We are pleased to support two charities. You can read more about them both below and find out how you can help too.

The Silver Line

The Silver Line

Sadly, more than half of all 75 year olds in the UK live alone, and one in ten suffers “intense” loneliness. We want to help change that.

The Silver Line is the UK’s free, 24-hour confidential helpline, providing information, friendship and advice to older people.

It is open every day and night of the year, supporting some of the loneliest and most isolated people in our communities.

The charity is close to our hearts here at Ability Superstore as we have adopted it as our chosen national charity.

How you can help

Since its launch in November 2013, The Silver Line has taken nearly 600,000 calls but it relies on the ongoing generosity of its donors, partners and supporters.

We have made it easy for you to donate to The Silver Line when you buy from our website.

Simply enter the amount you would like to give in the designated box on the checkout page (‘My Basket’).
Any amount will be gratefully received, no matter how little.

We will forward all donations on a monthly basis, on your behalf. It’s as simple as that!

You can call The Silver Line at any time on 0800 4 70 80 90, or you can find out more about volunteering and other ways to get involved here.

Pendle Riding for the Disabled Association

Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA)

The RDA provides great riding opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities.

Riding provides endless benefits for the riders, whether it be improving in confidence, both socially and with horses, working on fine motor skills and balance or even developing their technical riding skills further. Riders, ponies and volunteers often make friendships that last a lifetime and many riders go on to compete at regional and national level, with their newfound skills.

Above is a photograph of a few of the horses and volunteers at one Group, who work hard to enable these invaluable lessons take place.
