Oxo products

Over 25 years ago, Sam Farber noticed that his wife Betsy was struggling holding her peeler comfortably due to arthritis. This started Sam thinking: why do ordinary kitchen tools have to be difficult to use or hurt your hands? Why isn't there a range of easy to use, comfortable kitchen utensils?

So Sam spotted an opportunity to design and produce a range of more thoughtful cooking tools that would benefit users. He promised his wife that he would create her a better peeler.

In 1990, after extensive research, lots of different models and designs, the first 15 OXO Good Grips kitchen tools, including the now iconic peeler, were introduced. These ergonomically-designed tools set a new standard for the industry and raised the bar of consumer expectation and performance. They were designed to be easy to use for all ages.

Today, OXO has more than 1,000 products covering lots of different areas within the home. Their common purpose is thoughtful design, ease of use, comfort and reliability. OXO products have won numerous design awards and are included in the permanent collections of many museums worldwide.
