The panic alarm is a small pendant that can be worn around the neck. In an emergency the user presses the button and the main unit dials for help.
If the first number is busy or on voicemail it will dial the next pre -programmed number.
The user can record their own help message and 3 telephone numbers can be programmed (neighbour, relative or friend for example).
When answered, two-way conversation is possible.
The main unit is powered by a 6V adaptor (included). Four AAA batteries can be used for back-up (not included, sold seperately).
Connects to home land line telephone socket. Includes telephone connection cable and double adaptor to connect a home telephone.

VAT relief guidelines
VAT is a tax that consumers pay when purchasing services or goods in the European Union. The standard rate for VAT in the UK is currently 20% (increased from 17.5% on 4 January 2011).
If you are chronically sick or disabled, many items on our website are available VAT free if you are buying them for personal and domestic use and they are relevant to your condition.
To claim relief from VAT, customers must have a relevant disability or be purchasing on behalf of someone with a relevant disability.

Please note that VAT exemption eligibility does not cover those who are frail/elderly who are otherwise able-bodied. Nor does it cover any person who is temporarily disabled or incapacitated. The product must be supplied for the personal or domestic use of a chronically sick or disabled person to qualify for VAT zero-rating. Please also note that there are severe penalties, under the VAT laws in the UK, for any person who makes a false declaration or who evades VAT.
Not all products are eligible for VAT exemption. Products which are eligible are clearly indicated and can only be sold VAT free if the above criteria are met. Products are only eligible for VAT exemption if the manufacturer has confirmation from HMRC that they are satisfied that the original design was for the sole use of people who are chronically sick or disabled.
Please note that VAT still has to be charged on the postage and packing element of the order even if VAT exemption is applied to the product.

Speed of delivery
We keep a large range of the most popular selling items in stock, however with over 12,000 product lines available on the website it's unfortunately not possible to keep every single one in stock.
Items which are kept in stock are despatched the same (working) day as long as the order is placed before 2pm. Smaller items are sent using the Royal Mail post and should take between 1 to 3 working days to arrive (please allow up to 5 working days). Larger items are despatched using Parcelforce and should arrive 2 working days after the order is placed.
On items we do not keep in stock our suppliers strive to fulfil our orders within 2 to 3 working days and we then despatch on the same day as receipt which means that these items should arrive with you in around 5 working days.
If your order is urgent please contact us. On items we have in stock we can upgrade your delivery to a next (working) day delivery (if placed before 2pm) at an additional cost.
Occasionally products are either out of stock with our suppliers or have been discontinued and in these situations we will contact you as soon as we can, offering appropriate alternatives where available. If there is an extended delay with the delivery of your order we will email you to let you know and, of course, at this point you can cancel your order if you would prefer not to wait. The law states that we have up to 30 days to supply your order.
We will keep you informed of the progress of your order through regular emails and will also confirm despatch via email.
We deliver to mainland UK - England, Scotland and Wales (and Northern Ireland for the smaller items which can be despatched via the Royal Mail's postal service).
Delivery to other locations can be arranged however the cost of the shipping will vary depending upon destination. Please contact us by phone, email or LiveChat if you would like a shipping quote for countries other than mainland UK. Please note that deliveries to non-mainland UK locations will take slightly longer than our standard delivery.
Unfortunately delivery to PO Box and BFPO addresses is not possible due to Royal Mail restrictions.

We use the Royal Mail for most items and Parcelforce too, for larger/more bulky items.
Signatures required on delivery
For orders valued over £30 the package will usually require a signature on delivery. If no one is in when the courier/post man calls they should leave a card detailing how you can arrange re-delivery/collection from a local depot/office.
Use of packaging materials
In line with our environmental policy we often use recycled cartons and packaging, in an attempt to help reduce the amount of waste packaging which ends up in landfill.
