Bath boards
Bath and shower boards fit over the top of the bath, resting on either side and provide a stable platform to help the user to get in and out of the bath. Shower boards tend to have deeper seats with extra slats providing more reassurance and stability to the user.
The bath board allows the user to get their legs into the bath whilst sitting down and then to sit over the bath to wash or to sit underneath an over-bath shower. If the user wants to become immersed in the water then a bath lift may be more suitable.
The dimensions and actual shape of the bath itself are important to ensure that the correct bath or shower board is purchased. Boards come in a variety of widths to fit most types of bath.
Consider whether a grab rail is required as well. Some bath boards come with optional handles too.
