Royal Wedding Celebration Ideas

If you’re a fan of the Royals and want to watch the big day, we have put together some ideas & tips for celebrating if you’re going to be watching this weekend!

It’s been hard to avoid hearing about since it was announced in November last year, that Prince Harry & Meghan Markle are to be married this Saturday the 19th May 2018. The Royal wedding will be held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle at midday.  At 1pm, following the service, the couple will travel around Windsor in a horse-drawn carriage.

The couple have broken tradition by holding the wedding on a Saturday, meaning although we don’t get a bank holiday, we can still celebrate and watch the wedding live.

Street Party

Check with your neighbours or local council to see if there are any nearby street parties taking place that you can attend – all the fun of the party without the stress of organising it! Lots of pubs and organisations hold parties and celebrations when there is a Royal Wedding and it is a great way to get into the spirit of the day. Why not celebrate in style with our Union Jack Folding Walking Stick?

Watch Live From Home

If you’re not looking to head out for the day, the BBC, Sky News and ITV will all cover the day with big-name presenters, so you can put your feet up and enjoy it from your sofa with scones, tea and all the classics if you wish! Need a little help viewing the TV? TV Magnifying glasses will make sure you don’t miss any of the royal wedding.

Hold An Afternoon Tea

If you’re an avid cook, why not show off your skills and bake some classic British dishes – why not whip up a Victoria sponge or make a platter of sandwiches and party food for the whole family? It’s a great way to bring family and friends together to enjoy some delicious food and celebrate traditionally. Cook and bake easily with all the best food preparation aids.

Head To London

If you’re a super fan and are heading to London to join the crowds, don’t forget your picnic blanket and binoculars! A must-do for all royalists to fully immerse and enjoy the atmosphere and goings-on for the big day!
